This policy explains what data DiagBench does and does not collect. The short version: your screen test data never leaves your device, and we deliberately avoid tracking you.
Test data stays on your device
All display tests run entirely in your browser. The defects you mark, the diagnoses you
reach, and any measurements we show are stored only in your browser’s sessionStorage
for the duration of your visit and are cleared when you close the tab. We never transmit
screen contents, defect coordinates, or test results to any server.
Analytics
To understand which pages are useful, we use privacy-friendly, cookieless web analytics that count page views and referrers in aggregate. This analytics does not use cookies, does not fingerprint your device, and does not build a profile of you across sites — which is why you won’t see a cookie-consent banner for it. We cannot identify individual visitors from it.
Advertising
DiagBench may display advertising to support the free tools. If and when third-party ads are served, the ad provider may set cookies or use similar technologies in accordance with its own policies, and where required you will be given the appropriate choices. Any affiliate links are disclosed on the page where they appear.
Cookies and local storage
We use browser storage only for functionality: sessionStorage for your current
test session, and, if you set a preference such as a theme, localStorage to
remember it. We do not use cookies to track you. Third-party advertising, if enabled, is
governed by the provider’s cookie practices.
Data we do not collect
- We don’t ask for or store your name, email, or account details — there are no accounts.
- We don’t upload screenshots, defect maps, or test results.
- We don’t sell data. There is nothing personal collected to sell.
Children
DiagBench is a general-audience utility and is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.
Changes
We may update this policy as the site changes. The “last updated” date above reflects the current version.
