Green Screen — Fullscreen Pure Green
A pure, fullscreen green field that lights only the green subpixels. Green carries most of the luminance our eyes perceive, so a stuck green subpixel is often the most visible of all.
What to use a green screen for
- Finding dead or stuck green subpixels
- Judging green purity and uniformity
- A calibration reference for the green channel
- Part of a full-color dead pixel sweep
How to use it
- Click "Go Fullscreen Green".
- Scan for dark dots (dead green) or specks of another color.
- Compare corners and center for tint or brightness drop-off.
- Diagnose anything suspicious with the Dead Pixel Test.
Why green is the most revealing color
Human vision is most sensitive to green, and most display subpixel layouts weight green heavily. That means a stuck-on green subpixel against a dark scene is one of the most noticeable pixel defects, and a dead green subpixel visibly dims a spot on a green field. A pure green screen is therefore both a good defect finder and a useful uniformity reference.
